Why Bother?

Regardless of what award we win, just by participating we’ll benefit from:

·         Cleaner and greener surroundings for a healthier community

·         Safer environments for the enjoyment of local people of all ages

·         Increased civic pride as local people become involved with the planning and management of the local environment.

·         Momentum towards further improvements

·         Encouragement of recycling, energy conservation and other sustainable practices

·         Greater community contact with the local authority, working together to improve local areas

That’s the official view from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister as part of the Cleaner Safer Greener Communities Campaign

We think it will just make it a nicer street to live in and walk in and give us a sense of pride in our neighbourhood. And it’s a great healthy way to meet your neighbours!
