Valentine's Day Massacre Litter Pick 2009
Love was in the air for sure on Valentine’s Day when residents proved their affection for their road.
14 of us turned out, as well as Ros’s daughters Abigail and Jessica and fished out paper, cans and bottles – we left nothing unturned. We dug deep into the ivy and holly hedges. Why are the pop cans half full and the whisky bottles always empty?
Every picture tells a story – enjoyment on previous nights we could see by picking up rubber items – these were not the rubber bands the temporary postman loves to leave to mark his territory - better than the alternative we think!
We filled many black bags and afterwards Gavin made bacon butties with the extra thick (like Fran) bacon which we appear to be only able to purchase from the market nowadays!
The next one is Saturday 7th March – again meet at the Noticeboard at the end of the Dogge Lane Croft at 10.30 am.
