AGM October 2007 Minutes

        

Welcome by the Chairman Jeff Robinson

Jeff gave thanks to the community for their efforts which culminated in an “Outstanding” award for the Neighbourhood Entry into Britain in Bloom.

Apologies: None

Minutes of the 2006 AGM acceptance proposed by Steve Jackson and Kath Huckfield.

Matters Arising:

Steve Jackson reported that he had collected 105 kilos of aluminium with the help of the residents and £60 had been given to the St Johns Ambulance.

Re-election of the Committee

The meeting re-elected the Committee enbloc.

Secretary’s Report – no matters reported.

Treasurer’s Report

Gavin Brown reported that the balance of account stood at £1663.  The Quiz had raised £110 and Summer Fete had raised £650 which was donated to The Childhood Eye Cancer Trust. An expenditure of £60 had been made to host the Hazelwood Residents website.  The Secretary asked the meeting of approx 50 people who looked at the website approx 6 to 10 people raised their hands.

Social Secretary’s Report

Fran gave a power point presentation which pictorially tracked the progress of the successful Britain in Bloom entry from its inception to the judging in July to the award ceremony at which it was announced that Hazelwood Rd had been awarded an "Outstanding” for its first Neighbourhood Entry.   Thanks were given to all those people and organisation that made a contribution or gave support.

 

Graffiti – a short presentation was given by Geoff Millet who runs a company supplying products to remove graffiti.

Polish Representative – The caretaker for the library and a Polish community worker, Bogdan, gave a short speech to introduce himself as a resident on the road and voice his appreciation of the community effort.

 

AOB – no matters were raised.

The meeting was closed to be followed by refreshments and a short talk by Ian Sandy on his life in the entertainment world.
