Charity Tea Party
On Saturday August 13th 2011, on a sunny afternoon, we held a 'Blooming Great Tea Party' in aid of Marie Curie in our back garden.
The theme was 'Vintage' with a choice of homemade cakes and cups of tea served in old-fashioned cups and saucers. Someone even brought us strawberries and cream!
A raffle was held and some people baked for us and brought more homemade cakes. About 43 people came which was made up of friends, family and neighbours.
All those who attended were given their own private tea party to take home in the form of a home biscuit and a tea bag.
We raised over £280 on the day.
We would just like to say a big thank you to all who came and helped and for everyone's generosity in helping us to make it such a 'Blooming' success.
Bernadine, who won the first prize in the raffle (a meal for four at the Westley Hotel) raffled the prize again at her own 75th birthday party and raised another £100.
Thank you to everyone
